A new elective course on artificial intelligence will be introduced in Romanian high schools starting in the 2027-2028 school year, approved by the Ministry of Education. While 84% of high school students use AI weekly, nearly half do not verify the information received. The course aims to teach students about identifying false information and will provide teachers with free educational materials. Some students see the course as beneficial, but there are concerns about the lack of qualified teachers to deliver the content. Additionally, a new elective on sustainability will also be introduced, covering climate change and renewable energy.
