Lufthansa has downgraded its annual profit forecasts due to rising fuel costs, now estimated at €9.3 billion. Despite this, third-quarter results met analyst expectations, showing resilience amid challenging conditions. The airline's CEO noted that increased revenues and strict cost discipline helped offset fuel cost increases. Total fuel costs rose by over €400 million compared to last year. The company revised its operational profit forecast for 2026 to between €1.7 billion and €2 billion, down from a previous estimate of €1.7 billion to €2.2 billion. Third-quarter operational profit reached €1.4 billion, exceeding analyst predictions, while net profit rose by 30% to approximately €1.3 billion.
