A rare bronze stylus used by Romans for writing on wax tablets is on display at the National Museum of Union in Alba Iulia. Discovered during archaeological research in 2023, the artifact features unique decorative elements. George Bounegru, a researcher at the museum, highlighted its intact condition and distinct characteristics compared to other similar items. The stylus has a pointed end for writing and a flat end for erasing, showcasing a combination of incised and smooth surfaces. Such decorated pieces are scarce, with few parallels found in Roman Dacia. The stylus is dated to the 2nd century, reflecting the craftsmanship of the time and the social status of its owner.
