Authorities from 16 countries reported over 9,000 links to violent extremist and terrorist materials on social media and gaming platforms, coordinated by Europol. The investigation focused on the use of online games for extremist propaganda. Europol's EU IRU unit, in collaboration with Spain, targeted communities using online games to promote violent ideologies. Identified materials included jihadist, far-right, far-left, and anarchist extremism. Investigators found users recreating terrorist structures and narratives, which could lead to recruitment and radicalization, especially among youth. This operation follows a similar initiative from 2025 and is part of Europol's ongoing efforts to combat online terrorist propaganda.
