Florin Jianu, president of IMM Romania, stated that entrepreneurs cannot bear the costs of increasing the minimum wage, which would primarily benefit the state. He highlighted that a proposed increase of 300 lei would result in the state collecting 68% of that amount. Currently, entrepreneurs are left with only 1,900 lei monthly after paying salaries and taxes. Jianu criticized the government's focus on raising the minimum wage instead of proposing economic recovery measures. He suggested reducing labor taxes as a solution and proposed three alternatives to alleviate the fiscal burden. The government is considering various scenarios for the minimum wage increase, with unions advocating for a higher minimum wage by 2027.
