Romanian milk producers are facing decreasing prices for their products, with the average price dropping to 38.40 euros per 100 kg in October 2026, a 13% decline from the previous year. This marks a continuous downward trend in farmers' incomes, as prices have fallen from 44.13 euros in October 2025. Despite a temporary increase in August and September 2026, prices remain below last year's levels. Comparatively, the average EU price was significantly higher at 42.75 euros in August 2026. Additionally, milk collection by processors has decreased by 13.6% compared to the previous year, further straining farmers' revenues amid rising operational costs.
