The Agency for Rural Investment Financing (AFIR) is preparing a funding line specifically for energy storage batteries, aimed at farmers and processors in Romania. This initiative may also extend investments from previous energy schemes. The launch of this funding depends on securing additional resources from the Modernization Fund. AFIR has already developed guidelines for these investments and for expanding previously approved projects. However, challenges remain, including banks' reluctance to finance agricultural investments and lengthy construction permit processes. AFIR advocates for increased national budget allocations for agriculture, suggesting Romania should match or exceed EU funding levels.
