Three young men from Sântimbru, Alba County, were convicted of qualified theft for stealing two car batteries valued at 700 lei. The incident occurred on January 10, 2024, but the verdict was delivered on October 28, 2026. They broke into a car by smashing a window and took the batteries, later selling one and abandoning the other. The minor received a six-month educational measure, while the two adults were sentenced to one year in prison, suspended, and must complete 60 days of community service. The decision is not yet final and can be appealed.
