Over 4,000 children in Romania suffer from type 1 diabetes, prompting the launch of a campaign for a new integrated clinic. Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete emphasized the need for improved access to treatment and education on metabolic diseases. The new clinic aims to provide medical support and guidance for affected children and their families. Additionally, the minister announced plans to simplify the procurement process for insulin pumps and sensors, allowing patients to obtain them directly from pharmacies. Education on health and prevention of diabetes and obesity will also be introduced in schools, with a modular program tailored to different age groups. Legislative changes are proposed to enable funding for hospitals outside the Ministry's network.
