Two prosecutors from the Constanța Court of Appeal, Gigi Ștefan and Teodor Niță, have been indicted for corruption-related offenses. Gigi Ștefan faces charges of influence trafficking and bribery, allegedly receiving around €110,000 for exerting influence over public officials. He is accused of promising favorable outcomes in legal matters and facilitating professional transfers. Teodor Niță is charged with instigating abuse of office, blackmail, and usurpation of functions, attempting to influence a military officer to avoid legal actions against a company linked to him. Both prosecutors are suspended and under preventive arrest, with their cases now forwarded to the High Court of Cassation and Justice for trial.
