According to an analysis presented by Florin Jianu, approximately 3,550 new companies are needed to fully cover Romania's trade deficit, while 950 could reduce it by 25%. He emphasized that 30 billion euros of the deficit could be addressed by new firms, particularly micro-enterprises with investments up to one million euros. Jianu highlighted the importance of directing European funds towards investments that can help reduce the trade deficit, contrasting this with previous funding approaches that did not effectively address the issue. He noted that four product categories account for most of the deficit, including chemicals, machinery, metals, and minerals. Additionally, he pointed out the need for prioritizing sectors like grain processing and metalworking to tackle the deficit.
