Azerbaijan ranked among the top 10 natural gas exporters globally in 2025, exporting 24.6 billion cubic meters, despite a 3.4% decrease from 2024. The country's proven gas reserves remained at 1.9 trillion cubic meters, unchanged since 2023. Natural gas production increased by 0.7% to 37.97 billion cubic meters, while consumption fell by 1% to 13.36 billion cubic meters. Globally, proven gas reserves reached 207.477 trillion cubic meters, a 1.3% rise from the previous year. The Middle East held 40% of global reserves, with Russia and Central Asia following.
