The Romanian Ministry of Labor has clarified the pension law, stating that the standard retirement age will reach 65 for both genders by 2035. Currently, only women's retirement age is gradually increasing. The law allows for future adjustments based on life expectancy, potentially raising the retirement age further. Starting July 2026, women's retirement age will be 62 years and 7 months, increasing incrementally thereafter. Similar trends are observed in other European countries, where pension systems are adapting to demographic changes and financial pressures.
