This autumn, the Bolojan Government launched a digital platform detailing the profiles of state company leaders, revealing a concerning trend in management selection. Analysis of 557 directors from 121 state companies shows that many lack relevant experience and political ties influence appointments. Approximately 90% of profits come from monopolies, while competitive state companies struggle. Most directors have limited leadership experience, with many CVs listing only responsibilities rather than achievements. Political affiliations are prevalent, with 34% having political backgrounds. The platform highlights significant salary disparities, with higher pay for board members in monopolies despite lower performance accountability. Overall, the system favors conformity over competence, perpetuating a cycle of ineffective management.
