The Coif from Coțofenești, stolen from the Drents Museum in the Netherlands, is nearing completion of its restoration. The most significant issue, severe deformation, has been successfully addressed by specialists from the National Museum of Romanian History. Experimental methods were employed to restore the artifact's shape, guided by photographs and a replica. Although the restoration is progressing well, the coif cannot yet be displayed due to stability concerns. The restoration cost tens of thousands of euros, to be covered by insurance, with public viewing expected to start on January 15, 2027. The theft remains a part of the coif's history, emphasizing the challenges faced in museum practices.
