OMV Petrom has increased its market share in Romania's fuel distribution amid a fuel crisis, reporting significant sales growth. CFO Alina Popa noted that retail sales outperformed the market, driven by regulatory interventions. The company sold 1.65 million tons of fuel in Q3 2023, a 10% increase from the previous year, and 4.47 million tons in the first nine months, up 11%. The Romanian government extended the fuel crisis measures until January 31, 2027, including price controls and export regulations. OMV Petrom reported a net profit of 4 billion lei for the first nine months, an 18% increase, with Q3 profits reaching 2.2 billion lei, nearly triple the previous quarter.
