Dumitru Costin, president of BNS, announced that discussions on the minimum wage for next year will take place in a National Tripartite Council. The agenda includes labor market issues and a review of taxation on low wages. Costin emphasized the need for a transparent mechanism for setting the minimum wage, in line with EU directives. He noted that the Ministry of Labor must provide a preliminary minimum wage value based on public indicators. Costin also mentioned the reluctance of business representatives to support minimum wage increases and highlighted the importance of a new salary law, requiring urgent government action to gather necessary salary data from budgetary authorities.
