The 2026 Kennedy Center Honors will recognize five prominent figures in music, film, and theater, including Paul Anka and David Foster. The ceremony is set for December 7, 2026, at Capital One Arena, marking a departure from the traditional venue. This year's announcement is later than usual, with Donald Trump highlighting the honorees' impact on American culture. The event occurs amid political tensions and controversies surrounding the center's administration. CBS, which has aired the event since 1978, will not broadcast this edition due to expired rights. The Kennedy Center has a history of honoring significant cultural contributors.
