Archaeologists at Tell Muhammad in Baghdad have uncovered new evidence of daily life in ancient Mesopotamia, including possible bread and beer production facilities. The site dates back to the reign of Hammurabi, around 2000 to 1600 BC. Recent excavations revealed ancient fortifications and a production area linked to barley and beer, as indicated by a tablet referencing beer production. Ongoing archaeological work, started in 2022, aims to preserve Baghdad's cultural heritage and promote tourism. Hammurabi, known for his famous code of laws, ruled from approximately 1792 to 1750 BC.
