Archaeologists at Tell Muhammad in Baghdad have uncovered new evidence of daily life in ancient Mesopotamia, including possible facilities for bread and beer production. The site, primarily dating back to Hammurabi's era around 2000–1600 BC, revealed ancient fortifications and a production area for bread and beer. A tablet mentioning barley for brewing beer was also found. The ongoing excavations, part of a project started in 2022, aim to preserve Baghdad's cultural heritage and promote tourism. Discoveries will be displayed at the Iraq Museum.
