Approximately seven million ultra-thin condoms are being recalled in Europe due to manufacturing defects that increase the risk of breakage or perforation. These products may not provide adequate protection against sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies. Fifteen types of condoms made by Malaysian company Richter Rubber Technology are affected, sold under various brands. French authorities found that these condoms failed pressure resistance and perforation tests due to inconsistencies in latex thickness and quality. A one-year suspension on the sale and import of these condoms has been implemented, with potential extensions. Users are advised to get tested for STIs and pregnancy if they have used the affected products.
