Oil prices dropped significantly on Monday, around 6%, due to diplomatic efforts between the U.S. and Iran aimed at easing supply concerns in the Gulf. The international benchmark Brent crude fell by $6.90 to $106.50 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate dropped below $98. Renewed discussions to resolve the crisis have contributed to this decline. Iran's Supreme Leader approved ongoing government efforts to end the conflict, with indirect negotiations taking place in Doha. The U.S. has indicated a preference for diplomatic solutions rather than military action, further influencing market stability. Additionally, OPEC+ producers decided to maintain their oil production targets unchanged for December, extending a pause in production increases.
