The proposed law limiting the deductibility of expenses between companies in the same group could lead to double taxation and increased financing costs, warns the Chamber of Fiscal Consultants. They emphasize the need for predictable and proportional rules aligned with international standards. The law, currently under debate, would make certain expenses fully non-deductible starting January 2027, impacting both Romanian and foreign firms. This could deter investments and make Romania less competitive. The CCF argues that existing tools can effectively combat artificial profit transfers without imposing broad restrictions that harm compliant taxpayers. They call for improved risk analysis and consultations before any new measures are adopted.
