Romanian citizens suspected of lung cancer can access free medical investigations, even if uninsured, as outlined by CNAS. Patients should consult their family doctor for necessary evaluations and referrals. Investigations marked with "SO" for oncological suspicion are covered beyond the usual monthly limits. The goal is to establish a diagnosis within 28 days, with a multidisciplinary team determining treatment strategies. Patients diagnosed with lung cancer are entitled to various services, including hospitalization, monitoring tests, genetic testing, and palliative care. Symptoms like persistent cough and unexplained weight loss should prompt immediate medical attention. CNAS is also considering introducing low-dose CT scans for high-risk individuals by 2027.
