Hungary's Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced the removal of special budget funds for donations made by former presidents, part of a broader effort to cut public privileges. The 2027 budget proposal included annual allocations for four former heads of state, but these will be eliminated during parliamentary discussions. The funds, available since 2012, were intended for foundations and NGOs, but restrictions prevent political entities from receiving them. Magyar's decision follows previous commitments to reduce privileges for former presidents, who also receive lifetime allowances and other benefits.
