Florentina Adina Dobrete has been appointed as the new general school inspector for Vâlcea, replacing Mihaela Andreianu amid a wave of political changes. This appointment was made without a competition, following a ministerial order that affected several other counties. Dobrete, a long-time member of the PSD and director of the Casa Corpului Didactic Vâlcea, has a teaching background and previously ran for parliament. The changes come after the PSD called for the removal of inspectors affiliated with PNL and USR, following their exit from the government. The last competition for these positions was held in 2017, and since then, appointments have been made through political affiliations rather than merit-based processes. The new ministerial leadership aims to professionalize educational leadership and plans to replace inspectorates with regional education directorates by 2027.
