The appointment of Gabriel Ciprian Ene as Secretary General of the Government has raised concerns among judges due to potential incompatibility with his previous role as a magistrate assistant chief. According to Constitutional Court rulings, holding a magistrate position is generally incompatible with any executive role, except in the Ministry of Justice. Ene, who previously served at the High Court of Cassation and Justice, had to resign from his judicial position before taking on his new governmental role. The spokesperson for the High Court confirmed that Ene completed his employment there prior to starting at the Government.
