The Coif from Coțofenești, currently undergoing restoration at the National Museum of Romanian History, was presented on November 2, 2026. The museum launched a dedicated page for the public to follow the restoration process of this significant national heritage piece. Experts plan to display the coif horizontally on a specially designed cushion to ensure its stability. Restoration will involve reattaching a previously detached part and restoring its original diameter. The coif, made of gold and dating back to the 4th century BC, is considered a unique artifact linked to the Getic elite. It was recovered in April 2026 after being stolen in January 2025 from a museum in the Netherlands.
