Notified taxpayers must clarify their situation within 15 days to avoid penalties, and the tax amount may be determined automatically by authorities. The luxury tax rate is set at 0.9% for the portion exceeding the threshold. Failure to submit the required declaration can lead to fines and interest on unpaid taxes. Additionally, luxury tax applies to expensive vehicles valued over 375,000 lei, with a different declaration deadline.
