Prime Minister Luca Niculescu is meeting with unions today to discuss a proposed minimum wage increase of 675 lei starting January 1. The unions demand that the minimum wage reach 5,000 lei gross. This meeting follows previous discussions with business representatives, who oppose the wage hike. Additionally, Niculescu is expected in Parliament to present Romania's fiscal data, following a request from AUR, supported by PSD. Unions also seek separate talks with PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu and other ministers regarding salary legislation.
