Prime Minister Luca Niculescu is meeting with unions today to discuss a proposed minimum wage increase of 675 lei starting January 1. The unions demand the minimum wage to reach 5,000 lei gross. Concurrently, Niculescu is expected in Parliament to present Romania's fiscal data, following a request from AUR, supported by PSD. Last week, he met with business representatives who oppose the wage increase. Unions also seek new negotiations on the salary law and have requested separate discussions with PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu and other ministers.
