Bucharest and Transylvania have the highest average housing prices and mortgage loans in Romania, according to a recent analysis. The average home price in Bucharest-Ilfov reached €122,062, while in Transylvania it was €121,619. The average mortgage exceeded €86,000 in Bucharest-Ilfov and approached €84,000 in Transylvania. Other regions like Banat and Dobrogea also showed significant figures, but prices were lower. The analysis indicates that regional market development leads to higher prices and loans. Additionally, the average monthly income declared in mortgage applications was highest in Bucharest at nearly 12,000 lei. Overall, the mortgage market in Romania continued to grow in 2026, with many areas narrowing the gap with major regional markets.
