Romania's Defense Minister, Ștefan Radu Oprea, emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation with Moldova for security, especially regarding drone threats and the Black Sea situation. He highlighted Romania's role in joint defense procurement and the development of local production capabilities, enabling Romania to become an exporter of defense equipment. Oprea noted that Moldova's security is integral to Romania's security and stressed the need for information sharing and joint action. The collaboration includes a joint procurement project under the SAFE program, which aims to enhance military capabilities and support the European defense industry. Prime Minister Luca Niculescu also announced plans for military transport platform acquisitions.
