Four volunteers completed a 378-day isolation mission simulating conditions on Mars at NASA's Johnson Space Center. They lived in a 3D-printed habitat, faced communication delays, and managed limited resources. The experiment aimed to gather data for future human missions to Mars and the Moon. Participants will undergo evaluations to assess the impact of prolonged isolation on their health and performance. This was the second mission in the CHAPEA program, following a similar experiment in 2024.
