Vaccination against influenza in Romania has decreased by nearly 30% compared to the previous year, attributed to vaccine shortages. Approximately 500,000 people were vaccinated by the end of October 2026. The Ministry of Health announced a new delivery of 500,000 doses expected in mid-November to continue the vaccination campaign. Recent reports indicated nearly 79,000 respiratory infections and eight confirmed flu cases, with a total of 23 flu cases this season. Four flu vaccines are authorized in Romania, with sufficient stocks for some groups, while others are largely depleted.
