Thirty kilometers of the Transylvania Highway will open in December, delayed by 15 years. The project, completed by Umbrărescu, faced significant penalties costing one billion dollars. Originally contracted to Bechtel in 2003, only 50 kilometers were finished by 2011. The new section connects Nădășelu to Zimbor, adding to the existing highway network. The contract for this segment was signed in December 2020, with a projected completion date now pushed to late 2023 or August 2024 due to various challenges.
