Three Ukrainian citizens required rescue in Maramureș after a seven-day trek through the mountains. They were found at an altitude of 1,700 meters, exhausted and at risk of hypothermia. Rescuers provided food and warm tea before safely escorting them down and handing them over to border police. Alina Prisecaru from the local rescue service noted that the individuals had managed to start a fire and warm themselves while waiting for help. Their inadequate footwear made the descent challenging, necessitating the use of a safety rope. Fortunately, they did not have any serious medical issues after the rescue.
