Romanian consumers may face electricity bill increases of up to 22% compared to last year, while gas prices are expected to remain stable for households due to legislative measures. Energy Minister Dumitru Chisăliță noted that price hikes are evident in offers from various suppliers, with increases varying based on contracts. For natural gas, household bills should stay close to 2025 levels due to an administrative pricing framework valid until March 2027. However, non-household consumers, especially firms without long-term contracts, may experience significant price increases. The Ministry of Energy is considering compensation schemes for vulnerable consumers, pending necessary approvals.
