The Romanian government approved a budget rectification aimed at enhancing healthcare funding without increasing the deficit target. Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare highlighted the fragile state of public finances, with 70 billion lei needing to be financed in eight weeks before three credit rating evaluations. The rectification reallocates funds to priority areas, including social services and overdue payments to teachers. An ordinance was also adopted to prevent financial blockages, allowing local budget surpluses to fund social services and facilitating the transfer of certain healthcare projects. Nazare emphasized the importance of maintaining Romania's investment rating to protect citizens from potential financial deterioration.
