Parking issues in Brașov's city center have sparked controversy among local council members, particularly between USR representatives and others. A recent pilot study revealed that only one in three drivers pays for parking in the central area. The study, conducted by the municipality in collaboration with Flash Lighting, will expand to cover the entire historic center and neighborhoods. Authorities plan to implement stricter penalties for unpaid parking, including wheel clamping and towing. Previous mayor Allen Coliban had initiated a parking policy study, but no changes were made during his term. Current discussions reflect ongoing political tensions regarding parking management in the city.
