Today marks 30 years since Daniel Pancu's debut for Rapid Bucharest, a significant moment in the club's history. Originating from Iași, Pancu began his football career at Politehnica, where he became a key player and helped the team achieve promotion in 1995. Despite a brief stint in the top league, his performances attracted attention from major Romanian clubs. In 1996, after failed negotiations with Steaua, Rapid secured his transfer for $150,000. Pancu debuted shortly after joining and spent around 15 years with the club, achieving notable success, including a league title and three Romanian Cups. He later took on various roles, including coach and president, contributing to Rapid's legacy.
