Romanian authorities will not impose doubled taxes or fines on homeowners who closed their balconies without permits. Minister Alexandru Stoica announced a review of the legal framework to support homeowners in regularizing their situations. A grace period until August 2027 has been established for residents to comply without facing harsh penalties. The focus is on simplifying procedures and ensuring that homeowners are not penalized for actions taken in good faith, especially in cases related to thermal rehabilitation of buildings. The proposed changes to the Urbanism Code will be sent to Parliament for further legislative adjustments.
