A Romanian family of four needs approximately 11,000 lei monthly for a decent living, according to Minister of Labor Florin Manole. He noted that few families earn this amount together. During an interview, he referenced the Decent Living Consumption Basket by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, which estimates this figure. Manole emphasized that achieving this income level is challenging for many households in Romania. He also mentioned that Romanian incomes have significantly approached the EU average over the past two decades, but further progress requires a functional economy and sustained public investments.
