Organized groups of Romanians have been foraging mushrooms in southeastern Poland, causing local discontent and prompting police checks. Authorities inspected nearly 250 individuals and 60 vehicles for legality and public order violations. The groups, sometimes numbering in the dozens, were reported to be transported to and from the forests, with mushrooms being packaged for export. Violations included unauthorized vehicle access to forest areas, which can incur fines and penalties. Police actions aimed to ensure compliance with local laws and identify any wanted individuals.
