SoftServe conducted an internal survey among its robotics engineers to identify which robots might become common household items. The garden maintenance robot was favored by 27% of respondents, followed by companion robots for elderly care at 20%. However, a versatile robot capable of performing various household tasks is still seen as a distant prospect, with 85% predicting it will take at least five years for such robots to become commonplace. The survey reflects the opinions of SoftServe's robotics team, which includes various levels of expertise. While current consumer robots mainly assist with specific tasks, the market is expected to grow significantly, with a 37% increase in sales projected for 2025. Respondents believe that advanced robots will become more prevalent in homes within five to ten years, with many expressing optimism about the positive impact of robots on their lives.
