France, the UK, Bahrain, and Liberia reaffirmed their support for Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara and its autonomy plan during a UN Security Council meeting. The Council decided not to renew the mandate of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO). France emphasized that the future of the territory lies within Moroccan sovereignty and called for negotiations based on Morocco's autonomy plan. The UK described the plan as the most credible and viable solution for a lasting resolution. Bahrain and Liberia also expressed their support for Morocco's autonomy plan, highlighting its potential for regional stability. Following the vote, Morocco's Royal Cabinet viewed the decision as a significant step towards resolving the Sahara issue at the UN.
