Romanian companies rejected for funding under the SME Eco-Tech 2026 program can reapply due to a new 'second chance' principle introduced by the Ministry of Economy. This allows applicants to submit a new funding request after being denied, following the same evaluation procedures. Additionally, firms can now qualify for funding based on secondary CAEN codes, expanding eligibility. The program aims to support at least 800 companies, with a total budget of 288 million lei, and has attracted five partner banks for loans. The initiative is designed to enhance access to financing for various business sectors, including micro-enterprises.
