Investigators have identified a circle of suspects in the case of 700,000 euros missing from a customs office at Otopeni Airport. Conflicting information exists regarding the true owner of the money and jewelry valued at around 3 million euros. Among the suspects are two customs officers, one of whom purchased an expensive car shortly after the money was confiscated. The case began when two women arrived from Dubai with a large amount of luggage, leading to a customs check that uncovered jewelry and cash hidden in their shoes. After a penal case was opened and later closed, one woman attempted to reclaim her belongings but only received part of the jewelry. The customs authority reported the missing money, revealing that the bag had been tampered with, containing only paper inside. Investigators suspect the women were merely couriers for a powerful individual from Bihor.
