The Ministry of Education is considering transferring the responsibility for social scholarships for students to the Ministry of Labor. Discussions are ongoing regarding this potential change, which aims to relieve teachers of this financial management task. Currently, social scholarships amount to 300 lei per month for eligible students from low-income or single-parent families. Additionally, over 36,000 university students are expected to receive social scholarships in the 2026-2027 academic year, funded through national budget and educational programs.
