ANAF has started sending notifications to property owners regarding the luxury tax declaration. Owners of residential buildings valued over 2.5 million lei must submit form 216 within 15 days. Failure to comply may result in the tax being assessed by ANAF based on available information. The luxury tax rate will increase to 0.9% starting January 2026. Additionally, the tax applies to expensive cars valued over 375,000 lei, with a different declaration deadline. Local authorities are responsible for informing taxpayers about their taxable property values.
